1. Describe the task or activity that you were working on.
In the problem Lots of Squares, We were given a large square with four smaller squares inside of it. We could divide the squares into any size as long as it was still a square. The definition of a square is all sides are equal and all angles are 90 degrees and there are four sides. The point of this problem was to investigate which numbers of smaller squares we could make and which ones we could not.
2. How is your work here representative of this habit? Identify specific parts that show the "habit in action."
The habit experiment and play was very relevant to this particular problem. We had to experiment with every single number we were testing out. Each time we had a speculation, we had to draw a picture for it.
3. (Answer one) How was this habit useful in helping you make progress with the task or activity? If it was not useful, how might you revise your use of this habit so that it was useful?
This habit was useful because experimenting and playing really tested my patience. It was extremely time consuming and I think that it helped me become a better mathematician. This problem required experimenting. without experimenting, there is no possible way to make progress in this particular problem.
